An Invitation to Praise God

Psalm 95
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

The Lord has surely risen. Alleluia.

Come, let us sing praise to the LORD. *
Shout with joy to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us enter His presence with a song of thanksgiving, *
    singing joyful songs to Him.
[ANT]
For the LORD is a great God, *
and the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the depths of the earth, *
and the mountain peaks are His as well.
The sea is His for He made it, *
His hands formed the dry land.
[ANT]
Come, let us bow down and worship. *
LORDus kneel before the LORD our maker,
for He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, *
and the flock of His hand.
[ANT]
Today, will you hear His voice?
"Do not harden your hearts, *
as at Meribah and during the temptation in the wilderness,
where your ancestors tested and provoked Me, *
although they were witness to My work."
[ANT]
"Forty years that generation disgusted Me",
and I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, *
and they do not know My ways."
So I swore in My anger, *
"Never shall they enter into My rest."
[ANT]
Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
Amen

Messiah, King, & Priest

Psalm 110

Antiphon

Whoever is thirsty, * let them come to me and drink, and living water will flow from deep within them.

The LORD says to my master, *
    "Sit at my right hand,
and I will make your enemies *
into a footstool for your feet."
From Zion, the LORD will extend your mighty scepter's reach, saying, *
"Rule in the midst of your enemies."
On the day of your power, your people will follow you,
    in your holy splendor, *
"With the breaking of dawn, your youth comes to you like the dew."
The LORD swore an irrevocable oath, *
"You are a priest always, in the order of King Melchizedek."
On your right is my master, *
who will crush rulers on the day of his wrath.
He will drink from the brook along his way; *
therefore he will lift up his head.
Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,

Israel Freed from Egypt

Psalm 114
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

Bring me out * of the prison that keeps me, Lord, and I will praise your Name. Alleluia.

When Israel came out of Egypt, *
Jacob's children from a foreign people,
Judah became God's sanctuary, *
    and Israel became his dominion.
The sea flees at their sight; *
the Jordan turns back to its source.
The mountains leap like rams, *
    and the hills like lambs.
Why was it, sea, that you fled, *
Jordan, that you returned to your source,
the mountains, that you leaped like rams, *
    and the hills like lambs?
Tremble, earth, before the Lord, *
    before the God of Jacob,
who turned the rock into pools of water, *
and made waters spring forth from flint.
Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
Amen

Reading

An Epistle to the Hebrews 10:12-14

But He, having offered one sacrifice for all sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God. Since that time, He has been waiting until His enemies are made a footstool for His feet. For by His one offering, He has perfected forever all who are sanctified.

Gospel Canticle

My Soul Magnifies

Luke 1:46-55
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

I give you a new commandment: * love one another as I have loved you. Alleluia.

My soul magnifies the greatness of the Lord; *
my spirit bursts, rejoicing in God my Savior.
For He knew the humility of His servant. *
From today all generations will call me blessed.
The Almighty has done great things for me, *
    and holy is His name.
He has mercy for those who fear Him, *
    from generation to generation.
He has shown the strength of His arm, *
and scattered the proud for the thoughts of their hearts.
He has torn the mighty from their thrones, *
    and lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, *
and sent the rich away empty.
He has given help to His servant Israel, *
and remembered His promise of mercy.
The promise made to our ancestors, *
to Abraham and His children forever.
Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
Amen

Intercessory Prayers of Petition

Let us pray to Christ the Lord. He who died, and rose from the dead. He now lives and intercedes for us.
    Victorious King, hear our prayer.
Christ you are the light of the world, and the salvation of nations;
    – set us on fire with your Spirit as we proclaim the wonder of your resurrection.
    Victorious King, hear our prayer.
Let Israel see in you the Messiah they have longed for;
    – fill everyone who has breath with the knowledge of your glory.
    Victorious King, hear our prayer.
Keep us as one, in communion, with your saints;
    – may we find rest with them when the work of our lives are done.
    Victorious King, hear our prayer.
You, Jesus, have destroyed death, the final enemy of us all;
    – now destroy within us all that keeps us from God.
    Victorious King, hear our prayer.
Christ, our Savior, you became obedient to death, are exalted at the right hand of the Father;
    – receive our siblings into the kingdom of your glory.
    Victorious King, hear our prayer.

Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who is in heaven,
    hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come,
    Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil;
for the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are Yours without end.
Amen

Collect

Let us pray.

Only from you, God our Father,
does redemption find us, your adopted children.
Look with favor upon your family that you love,
give true freedom to us, and to all who believe in Christ,
and journey with us until we reach our eternal home in your kingdom.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.

Blessing
