and the mountain peaks are His as well.

"Do not harden your hearts, *

as at Meribah and during the temptation in the wilderness,

where your ancestors tested and provoked Me, *

although they were witness to My work."

"Forty years that generation disgusted Me", †

and they do not know My ways."

So I swore in My anger, *

"Never shall they enter into My rest."

"Sing us one of the songs of Zion!"

How do we sing the LORD's song *

in a foreign land?

If I forget you, Jerusalem, *

The Lord knew * my humility, and the Almighty has done great things for me.

My soul ✛ magnifies the greatness of the Lord; *

my spirit bursts, rejoicing in God my Savior.

For He knew the humility of His servant. *

From today all generations will call me blessed.

The Almighty has done great things for me, *

and holy is His name.

He has mercy for those who fear Him, *

from generation to generation.

He has shown the strength of His arm, *

and scattered the proud for the thoughts of their hearts.
